Origins
From the early 1930s through to the 60s, truckers were given heavily branded peaked caps by haulage companies and later by other brands to promote their businesses. Also known as mesh or net back caps, they gained notoriety through into the 70s as global brands such as mountain few and agricultural feed companies used them as giveaways at truck stops which is why they’re also known as gimme caps - ie. “give me” due to them being handed out for free. Fast forward to the 50s and the trucker cap is the staple in any denim head's wardrobe, still carrying the heavy branding, the net back and the curved peak.
